PART OF A HISTORY-MAKING ORGANIZATION
The Redwood PTA is proud to be a member of both the NJPTA and the National PTA. First recognized over a hundred years ago, the National PTA continues the mission of the two founding women who believed in the importance of the parents' role in children's advocacy. Since then, the PTA has impacted important issues such as child labor laws, school safety, and healthy lunch programs. By partnering with these non-profit organizations, we benefit greatly from the resources they provide, such as leadership workshops, forums for parents, and PTA grants to ensure strong local PTAs. Find out more at www.njpta.org and www.pta.org.
MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL
Every year, we are lucky to have a PTA of devoted members. Membership is gained by filling out a membership form and submitting a fee of $12 per person. Positions on the Board of Directors (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are open to all PTA members in good standing who are prepared to serve a 2 year term. Additionally, the Standing Committee Chair positions (Fundraising, Programs, Communications, Social Media, 5th Grade, Bylaws and DEI) serve for one year. A Nominating Committee comprised of a small group of PTA members will then review the applications of all the candidates and select who they feel would best fulfill each position based on their qualifications. As diversity and fresh viewpoints are always welcome, everyone in the PTA is encouraged to apply.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
The Redwood PTA has been recognized by the NJPTA for our innovative ideas and strong leadership. Over the past few years, new and exciting events have been added to our annual program of fundraisers. You may recall, and have been participants of the Fall Festival, Spring Carnival, Holiday Shop and Scholastic Book Fairs. More importantly, our commitment is seen in our school spirit, the close bond of our community, and the fun-filled activities that are packed into every school year.
The PTA is 100% run by volunteers. The officers and members give their all to ensure that our kids have the best possible experience in school. The most successful PTA is made up of willing parents, teachers and guardians who have the children's best interests at heart. We hope to see you at our meetings!
